Farm Cottage and Barn Remodel
For this project, our client wished to renovate and upgrade a traditional farm cottage and convert an adjoining stone farm building to create a unique dwelling. Parts of the cottage are believed to date back 300 years. In more recent times, there had been rather unsympathetic adaptations made to the rear by way of an increase in height to a previous lean-to structure and the addition of a small porch; both box-like in appearance. Latterly, upvc double glazed units had also been fitted, further eroding the traditional appearance of the buildings. The cottage interiors were somewhat dated with serious damp problems and a full scheme of modernisation was required to bring the property up to current day standards.
