A new build family house on an infill corner plot for the Architect owner-occupier, Jeremy Tyrrell, Managing Director of T2 Architects. The house is built in the garden of a 1930's house and has been designed to take advantage of far reaching easterly views. Due to privacy constraints of neighbouring properties the house is built tight to the plot boundaries on two sides. As such on the upper floor all windows are orientated in one direction, so as not to overlook neighbours. The roof has been kept low to ensure the height is not dominating, with a low eaves, symmetrical pitch and strong gables. These are all features common to the prevailing context, which the new house interprets in a contemporary manner. The house has an internal floor area of 186m2, in additon to this is an integral double garage.
