Bridge of Weir, Renfrewshire
The design is a simple form that echoes the best intentions of other modernist houses on Clevans Road - open plan living connecting to the surrounding landscape.
The house design was a wrapping spiral of brick wall with a folding zinc roof above. At the lowest (starting) point was the kitchen where we fitted a velux rooflight to create a pool of light over the island and a view upwards to the trees that line the edge of the site. This is a particular point of interest to make the lowest part of the house as special in a different way as the other taller/larger spaces.
